What clues does the question give that you need to, or should, use the binomial equation?

As far as I know, it is not essential to use binomial theorem. So, if you are struggling with the application of binomial theorem, remember that the question can be done without it.
A binomial theorem is like trigonometry for GMAT, if you know it, you may be able to solve some question directly, but even if you don't know it, you'll still be able to solve the questions.

Binomial Theorem:
P = nCr * (p^r) * ((1-p)^n-r)
--> let (p^r) be the prob for successes
--> let (1-p)^n-r be the prob for failures
--> let nCr be the number of ways that "successes" can be distributed among n trials (a combination)
For example you roll 6 dice all at the same time. Say you want to find the probability of rolling two 3's.
remember that the six dice are different
P = 6C2*((1/6)^2)*((5/6)^4)
