I would suggest you to stick to official material as much as possible.
If you have already exhausted official guide then consider solving it again. But this time start maintaining an error log and practice the question in a timed way. Even if you get the question correct, see the official solution or search for an alternate easier solution on gmatclub

After you exhaust it take gmat prep practice test 1 & 2. Then search on this forum for "All gmat prep questions"
That is a huge database.
After that buy Exam pack 1 and attempt it. By this time you must have improved on quant big time. Re run the exam pack to solve all its questions too.
Even after this if you wish to improve or practice further, then buy exam pack 2
Once you get the hang of official questions and you just wish to work on your timing issues then take Gmat Club tests and practive their 26 mocks.
I hope it helps!

Hi Gaspar777,

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for each)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hello all. Took my official gmat today and quant was worse than expected, 32 =/. I am already scheduled to take the test again in 6 weeks. So my question is, does anyone have any suggestions as to what course I should take or what I can do to get that score up? I essentially need to maximize effectiveness and do not mind paying for another prep course or tutoring. I don't want to spend a ton though. I was looking at magoosh's math and ir option for a couple of hundred bucks... Open to any and all suggestions!!!
A Q32 means that you really need to work on your basics. Any reasonably good course should be able to expose you to the concepts you need. Maybe working with a tutor is a good idea. Also, what do you mean when you say the 32 was "worse than expected"? What were your GMATPrep scores like?

Thank you for all the replies. Ajitesh, my raw scores on the 4 gmat practice exams for quant were 39-41. That is why this official score was so disappointing.
As far as test prep, I have done the Kaplan live online and 4 of the official gmat prep tests. I am scheduled to take the test again in 3 weeks. I would be happy with a 40/40.

If those GMATPreps had only "fresh" questions, you should consider your ability level to be around 40 (not 32). You still need to work a bit on your basics though. Make an error log and check whether there is a pattern to your mistakes, maybe some concepts that are particularly weak. Use any remaining Kaplan material you have and get some more official material (official is generally better just before the exam). Get more material only if you feel you don't already have enough.
