I know this has been asked before, probably, but my admissions consultant wants me to reference my recovery from an alcohol problem in an essay for Dartmouth. The essay asks about how you overcame adversity and what you learned from it. Do you think this is a terrible idea? It seems risky to me and I am not sure if I should do it. On one hand, I am very proud of my sobriety and I have matured a great deal and learned a lot from it. But I do not know how everyone could take it.
