I have a question regarding this problem.Thought D is the right answer but don't we need an outside knowledge that Bach and Beethoven are not modern composers.If someone don't know that then he or she might could choose E as the right answer.

This is a comparison problem .We have to use most for comparing here as they are many people out of them she is most enthusiastic .
In the original sentence modern composers are compared to Music .

D corrects the mistake 
E on the other hand has redundancy problem as we do not need other as we are not comparing among modern composers .
