Hi,

Inference: Any conclusion that MUST be true, given the passage.

Choice E: Proper kidney function involves the removal of excess potassium.

I feel this choice is as good as C), which says that the kidneys are responsible for maintaining calcium chloride.

The passage tells us that: Excess potassium causes H, whereas Calcium Chloride injections can be used to treat it.

For all we know, Kindeys could be a) removing excess potassium, b) maintaining/increasing calcium chloride or c) any combination of the two.

Either way, we cannot say for sure which of these functions is being performed by the kidney.
