For all values x and y, \(x?y = \frac{3^{(2x + 2y)}}{3^{(2x - 2y)}}\). What is the value of a?b?
(1) a = 2
(2) b = 4

\(x?y =\frac{3^{(2x + 2y)}}{3^{(2x – 2y)}}\)
=>\(x?y =3^{(2x + 2y) -(2x – 2y)}\) -- as \(\frac{a^m}{a^n} = a^{m-n}\)
=>\(x?y =3^{4y}\)
Hence, for \(a?b\), value of b is sufficient to answer
statement 1 : a = 2 ;not sufficient
statement 2 : b = 4; sufficient
IMO - B
