A special variety of apricot kernel found only in Armenia is considered the best source of vitamin B17, also known as amygdalin, and is used by Armenians to cure cancer. If you take as small a quantity as 50 grams of these kernels it can take care of the daily requirement of the vitamin and protect you from cancer. However, these apricot kernels are extremely bitter; but a new process designed to remove the bitter taste is making these apricot kernels palatable to Americans. We have, therefore, started growing these Armenian apricot trees here in the USA for sale. The argument above assumes all of the following EXCEPT
1 In general, Americans will not eat extremely bitter foods. 2 The new process referred to does not remove a significant part of the vitamin content in the Armenian apricot kernels. 3 Americans are likely to buy the new source of vitamin B17. 4 There are many Americans who would buy the Armenian apricot kernels to cure themselves of cancer.
