A trader buys articles at the rate of 10 per rupee. He sells one-third of the lot at the rate of 12 per rupee and the rest at the rate of 9 per rupee. Find his profit percentage.

let us consider 30 items.....which costs 3rs..as he bought 10 per rupee
so 1/3 of 30 are bought at 12 per rupee.....so total cost of 10 items is 10/12
and remaining 2/3 are bought at 9 per rupee.....so total cost of 9 items is 20/9
total cost is (10/12)+(12/9)= 3.05.........with a minute deviation of 0.05( which is 1.66%)...... so we can consider option E, since none of the options are closer.

Let brought X items. Costs 10x . Selling (12x X 1/3)= 4x and (9x X 2/3)= 6x , total 10x , so no profit no loss.
