MIT MSRED
1) Location, we're going into a recession and firms are more likely to hire from top local schools (Boston) than travel up to Ithaca for schools slightly weaker in pedigree.
2) Degree type, the MIT MSRED will get you to your real estate goal, that's the point of the program. Cornell's 1 year MBA with a RE class or two won't compare. When you're recruiting, your competition is going to be better prepared at the MIT MSRED type programs VS Cornell 1 year MBA. Your competition isn't just your classmates, but all graduating students. Those MSRED applicants are going to run circles around you the Cornell 1yrs in RE interviews.
3) Your past degrees, you have an MBA already, how are you going to spin going to Cornell for a 2nd MBA? The more explaining on your CV, the harder it is to get a great job. Recruiters want 'easy hires,' esp in a recession they can plug and play.
4) Classmates, MIT MSRED will allow you to study with classmates going for the same field. You will be prepping together & in the job recruiting scene together. Cornell's 1 year program is a collection of ppl (mostly int'ls) from diverse backgrounds that's not well integrated w/ the full time 2 year program. Who is going to help you prep for jobs?? You would be 100% on your own.
5) Professors, MIT MSRED will give you better chances to network w/ professors that have contacts in the industry. Given Cornell's Ithaca location & you're looking at their 1 yr MBA program, their RE network is less expansive.
