The argument clearly talks about the development of tropical storms, so the answer must be something mentioned about this.

Only option A talked about it and was clearly more logical.

(A) There are likely to be more tropical storms if the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere continues to increase.
CORRECT: It clearly concludes the result of the increase in the amount of carbon dioxide.
From the first line of the argument we can find:
=> Increase in Amount of carbon dioxide -> Increase in Temperature of water bodies -> Increased chances of the tropical storm

(B) Tropical storms can occur only when the air temperature exceeds 26 degrees Celsius.
"Only" word is too extreme. The argument mentions "can occur" if it exceeds but not that this is the only reason

(C) The number of large bodies of water whose temperatures exceed 26 degrees Celsius to a depth of about 60 meters is greater today than it ever was.
There is no information about past information. The argument only suggests if it increases today, then the temperature will increase in the future.

(D) The ferocity of tropical storms does not depend on the amount of carbon dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere.
Out of scope: No information about the intensity of the storm

(E) Any increase in the temperatures of the Earth’s oceans would cause the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to increase as well.
The opposite of what is mentioned in the argument. It is the other way around.
