Let A = 6k, B = 5k and C = 7k in 2010
In 2015, A = 3p, B = 4p and C = 3p
Since A’s salary increased by 25%,
So, 6k*5/4 = 3p
5k = 2p
% increase in C salary = 3p – 7k/7k = 3(p/k) – 1/7
On solving by putting value of p/k as 5/2, we get
% increase = 7. 07%

CORRECT ANSWER A

The Ratio of salary of A B C is 6:5:7 in 2010
The Ratio of salary of A B C is 3y:4y:3y in 2015
25% increase in salary of A over the period of 5 years
Therefore, 6*1.25=3y
The percentage change in the salary of C is 3y=7*(100+z)/100
7.5*100=700+7z
50=7Z
Z=7.1
Nearest to 7
So OA is A option.

The salaries of A, B and C were in the ratio 6:5:7 in 2010, and in the ratio 3:4:3 in 2015. If A’s salary increased by 25% during 2010-2015, then the percentage increase in C’s salary during this period is closest to

A. 7
B. 8
C. 9
D. 10
E. 11

Sum up two ratios and the denominator of 25% = 1/4 Take LCM of 18,10,4 = 180
In 2010 A = 6/18 * 180 = 60
Increase = 5/4 * 60 = 75
Since A = C in 2015 C's final salary = 75
C 's initial salary = 7/18 * 180 = 70
% increase in C = 75-70/70 * 100 = ~7%
A
