Ideally, it should provide the relation between quarts and gallons.

    • We know 4 quarts = 1 gallon.

    • Thus, 130,000 quarts =\( \frac{130000}{4}\)
      o One important point here is not to calculate this and do the calculation only in the last step

    • We can say, 600 galons accounts for a difference of 2.9 - 2.1 = 0.8 hours = 0.8 × 60 minutes
    • So, 1 gallon must account for \( \frac{{0.8 × 60}}{600}\)
    •\( \frac{130000}{4}\) must account for \( \frac{130000}{4}\) × \( \frac{{0.8 × 60}}{600}\)
      oAs you can see we now can easily cancel a lot of terms such as 600 and 4 and thus much easier to do calculations if we wait till the last step.

    The answer is option D. 2600
