Hi aniketsingh19,

Can you double-check the Score you received on the Official GMAC CAT that you took? I ask because a Q48/V30 would not earn you a 680 (it would be closer to a 650), so some aspect of that Score is incorrect.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich, I just checked, its Q48, V 35. Edited the post as well.

Regarding your questions :

1. I have studied for 3-4 Months or more for this 2nd attempt scheduled in October first week. 4-5 hours per day. Not counting first attempt last year.
2. Study materials - OG, OG Review, GMAT Club Mock, Experts Global Free Mock, Manhattan Free Mock, Wizako, GMAT Advanced(just started GMAT Adv)

SC - Manahattan SC, review on GMAT Club , OG13 from Club Forum, Videos by Souvik

CR- Powerscore Notes from GMAT Club, OG, review on GMAT Club

RC - NY times, OG (and while practicing my accuracy went up to 75%+)

Maths
Wizako
GMAT Club CATs
Some Manhattan books
gmatprepnow free videos

3. GMAT first attempt - Nov 2019 - 560 Q42 V25 IR4 AWA 5 or 6(don't remember exactly). score cancelled
GMAT Prep Mock 1 and 2 Sep,Oct 2019 - always in the range 590-620, Q45/46 V below 30
2nd round of prep:
GMAT Prep Mock 4 - 17 May 2020 - 560 Q46 v20
GMAT Prep Mock 3 2nd attempt after Oct 2019, remembered just one question - 15 July 2020 - 680 Q48 V35 (I worked really hard on English, reviewed official questions in depth)
Manhattan Free Mock - 26 July 2020 - 590 Q42 V30
Experts Global Free Mock 15 Aug 2020 - 620 Q45 V31 (took it under real exam like condition, and there was no pause button as well)

GMAT Club latest CAT Q47(took a lot of breaks though)

Target Schools - Fuqua (because of energy concentration), Wisconsin Madison(I am from Non IT Program management and heard they have good operations course). UNC KF Early 14 Oct, Mccombs R1/R2, and If I get a score above 730, then Kellogg during R2.

Can I score beyond 720 with 52 days remaining?

Hi aniketsingh19,

The scoring algorithm on the Official GMAT is far more complicated than most people realize. Since that algorithm is proprietary, no GMAT company has an exact match for it, thus CAT scores can vary a bit based on the 'biases' involved in their respective designs. The most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, but retaking a CAT that you've already taken is NOT a realistic way to assess your skills - since you will likely see some 'repeat' questions that you have already faced. Unfortunately, seeing even a couple of repeats can 'throw off' the Scoring Algorithm and impact your pacing, energy levels, fatigue, etc. (meaning that they would likely all appear to be better than they actually are). Thankfully, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion) - so you can use any NEW CATs from any of those sources next.

At this point, your general 'ability level' is probably near 600. Statistically-speaking, raising a 600 to the point that you can consistently score 720+ will likely require at least another 2-3 months of consistent, guided study though - and you'll have to make significant improvements to how you handle BOTH the Quant and Verbal sections. Thankfully, the GMAT is a consistent, predictable Exam, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. I understand that you have some specific application deadlines that you want to apply by, but if you think that you truly "need" a 720+ to apply to those Schools, then THAT Score Goal has to come first - and you might need to consider pushing back your Test Date and application plans.

Since you know the specific Programs that you want to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

That additional perspective on the type of GMAT Score that you should aim at would be useful in setting your timeline and plans going forward. Once we have that information, we can map out an appropriate Study Plan for you.

Improving to 720 in just 52 days is a pretty tall order but it’s not impossible. With that in mind it may be a good idea to take another official practice exam to get an updated baseline score. Once you do, if you’d like some further advice, feel free to reach out with your score breakdown. Also, here are a few helpful articles:.
