Wow, I’m sorry to hear about all that. I agree that you should call the folks at GMAC ASAP to see if you can speak to someone on the phone. Once you get in touch with someone, feel free to report back with an update.

Last night, I received an email from Pearson Vue, saying that I've violated their policy and because of that I'm prohibited from taking any future online exam owned by GMAC and will be eligible only to take a GMAC assessment administered at an approved testing center.

That's terrible! I would hate it if that happened to me. Please do try giving them a call so you can actually speak to someone and explain the situation.

hello,

I recently took the Gmat online exam and I had an absolutely dreadful experience.

On 30th July, I took the Gmat online exam. The first section was quants and so when I was on the 5th or 6th question, the proctor said that he couldn't see my face due to some technical issue so he would close the exam window and launch it again and I would be able to continue my exam from where I left. So when he launched it again, I was able to continue the exam from where I left but now I had 4 fewer minutes. I was really angry at the time but I decided not to fight over this 4 minutes else I'll lose more time. At the end of quant section, I missed 2 questions.

Now, next section was verbal, everything was going fine until the proctor asked me not to mumble or he'll revoke my exam. I stopped mumbling but after few questions, I started mumbling again because I couldn't focus or understand the question but this time I was mumbling so quietly that even if a person was next to me, he or she couldn't hear me. So when I was on the 26th question, the proctor revoked my exam.

Nowhere in the Gmat online exam rule book, it's written that test taker is not allowed to mumble.

I was preparing for the exam for more than 6 months and I even invested more than 2500$. It's really an absurd reason to cancel someone's exam just because that person was mumbling.

Since then, I have written many emails to PEARSON VUE but they always say it's "under process". Because of this, I'll miss round 1 of many universities.

Hi Harshal
I have faced a similar issue. Could you please help me know where can I write to take up my case.
Thanks

I took the GMAT Exam this morning. Not a great experience but learning, I guess.

Everything was going well - finished check-in, finished the Quant section, and finished 3/4 of the verbal section. The room was getting super cold and basic instincts took over (I was super focused on the exam/felt the urge to use the restroom), I got up and switched off the fan and was back to the seat - this took about <5 seconds. I was continuing the exam, the proctor started chatting with me - before he asked me why did I get up from my seat - I explained to him the same, he asked me to show the fan, I did. I was allowed to continue. I finished the verbal. With his permission, I went out during the break. I came back and started the IR, in the first few minutes, he started chatting with me again and told me that he is revoking my exam because I violated the policy or standing up is not allowed. That's it my exam got closed.

I called the customer service immediately and explained the situation, they asked if I need to reschedule. Now, I don't know if I could still get my score for Quant/Verbal, I don't care too much about IR. So I requested that I would like to get my score before I could reschedule. They created a case and told me that they will get back. But now I read through all the rules - one of which says you cannot get up from the workstation.

Questions: Any such cases before? Can I still get my score if it's revoked (revoked for me or from the system). Does it make more sense to just go ahead and reschedule? Also I am afraid if any of this affects my rescheduling ( planning to apply for Part-time programs Spring/Fall 2021)
Suggestion: Be very particular about the rules, do all the practice exams without getting up from the work station.

Thank you.

Had my exam revoked as well yesterday. :(
Very disappointing considering I had only the last bit of IR left.
I had done quant and verbal without facing much problems, atthough I was warned once about my face not being visible during quant when I bent down onto my whiteboard to work out a problem.
During IR I had forgotten that and did it again (quite instinctively) and they said that I had been warned once and thanks for....Pearson VUE.... At this my heart sank and a massive gloom just set in, from which I am not able to get over.

Guys who had their exams revoked I am sure you might have had some kind of resolution by now. Please tell me about anything that can be done, was done. Please 🙏

Hi, did you receive any reply? I just faced the same issue. When I complained online, the customer care guy said that proctor has written in his note that I was loud. On the other hand, he gave me one warning for allegedly mumbling. And, he within a few seconds said that he will revoke my exam for mumbling.

Customer care guy said that his team will take another 3-5 working days to check the issue. But, as I know, they are too slow to respond on mail and take any action. Seems like my $250 was burnt by these people!

This is a very humiliating experience! In my entire life, none said that since "you are mumbling I will revoke your exam".

UPDATE: Got a response today. They have sent me a voucher to make another attempt at no cost. Seems reasonable to me :)

Has it been two weeks since the incident? Or longer? Trying to gauge for average lead time.

I had given the exam on 1st December. Received the response on 19th Dec. Approximately 14 working days.

Thanks all for sharing your experience. My exam too was revoked because I had to leave for washroom in IR section urgently. I don't care if they make me pay again. But I really need to take the exam as soon as possible - I am at peak of my prep and dont want to keep studying for a few more months . Can someone tell me the best way to put my case in front of them.
Should I email them or register a ticket on their website. I am based out of India

Hi,
Yesterday, the proctor revoked my online gmat exam due to technical issue, as the proctor was not able to see my video while i was able to see it, and rescheduled the exam for today. Today, I got the same issue and the proctor revoked my exam again.

Before going through the check-in process I had gone through all the steps such as closing firewalls, antivirus, and etc.

Now, i'm on the line waiting for the pearsonVUE's agent to cancel my online exam. I prefer to go to the test center in Montreal.

Frankly, It was a very stressful and frustrating process to go through all those processes. Moreover, I had booked a private space of my university's library, and taken the mock tests in that room in order to get familiar with the space for my final online exam. very disappointed....
