I find 700-800 level MGMAT quant questions to be extremely time-consuming. Many of those questions aren't necessarily complex. It seems like solving/calculation skill is more important in MGMAT than reasoning/logic skill. Any thoughts? Has anyone scored 50-51 in MGMAT on test mode?

As you noted, these sorts of questions are heavy on calculations. GMAT questions are more reasoning-based and usually will not involve long calculations. MGMAT questions can still provide some practice to some students.

Many Test Takers become too fixated on the 'implied level' of the questions that they're working on - instead of what really matters: defining WHY they're getting questions wrong and becoming more efficient at approaching the overall Exam. It's also worth noting that just because a 3rd party describes a question as "700 level" does not necessarily make it so.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) What is your overall goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

I wasn't really looking for a generic copy/paste advice per se. I wanted to hear from fellow GMAT test takers to see whether they've noticed a similar pattern.

Someone consistent with Q45 in MGMAT can expect to score Q48 and above in official Mocks/Test unless s/he screws up or has a bad day. A comparison of solving/calc skill with reasoning/logic skill is a new one but i would say generalizing is not the best thing to do. There are many people who have scored Q50-51 in MGMAT but they are top percentile test-takers.

What best you can get out of MGMAT tests(particularly Quant) is that you can practice for stamina required for official test. MGMAT quant questions are best known for practicing but the test/test score may not truly reflect official test/score.

Better consider MGMAT Quant a step of a GMAT Prep ladder.

You've asked a rather generic question, so until you provide more specific information about YOUR studies and performances, the responses that you receive will likely be a little 'broad' compared to what you're probably looking for. The MGMAT CATs are generally regarded as being a bit tougher than the Official GMAT, but trying to equate a 'curve' into those CAT results can be problematic (again, because you're asking about an implied question-level on a 3rd-party Exam without considering the many and varied factors that can impact your results). What you're ultimately looking for is clearly not a copy-paste answer, but you haven't been specific-enough with your details to expect to receive much more than that.
