GMATNinja please share the solution
­Ian already shared the easiest method. If you want long winded one,

1979:
Avg of central R= Avg of entire R = x

1980:
Avg of central R in 1979 + 260 = 125/100 * x
x+260=5x/4
x=1040

Now question asks how much avg of entire r increased= 22/100 * x

1040*22/100=228.8­

note: increase in per home is same as increase in average.­

Should be:

­x + 260 = x*125/100

x + 260 = 5x/4

x = 1040
