Nice, a “due to/because of/because” Split.

Looking forward to the Generis Explanation.

Does not use the compound preposition “because of” incorrectly.

Does not use “due to”, a noun modifier, incorrectly.

And the pronoun “ones” has a correct, clear, plural-noun antecedent.

Also, -C- uses “that” after the working verb to avoid any ambiguity (I’m especially looking forward to the  generis  explanation about the usage of “that”.)

B) that one language dies every 14 days due to communities abandoning native tongues in favor of more common ones  (Something happened due to something = Not right here. Cause effect is wrong)

C) that one language dies every 14 days because communities abandon native tongues in favor of more common ones  (looks fine and only option left)

D)  one language dies every 14 days because communities abandon native tongues in favor of more common ones

E)  the death of one language every 14 days because communities are favoring more common tongues

IMO C is correct.

Coming to C , D and E.

In C - ' THAT ' refers to Revealed - ( ✔ )

E changes the meaning and D is also ( X )

S-> One language, V-> dies ) ( Fun side note: "that" in parenthesis is skipped by Author - usual writing practice. Would i eliminate an answer based on this - probably not

Problems with the answer choices. (A,D,E): 1.revealed that is missing.2. (A,D) abandoning is used , we prefer abandoned. 3.E doesn't adhere to the meaning of the sentence. 
B. is wrong Because of the use of "due to"
