Hi OCSC1290

1. How accurate is the GMAT Official Practice Exam? Is this benchmark at least moderately effective?

I'd say it's pretty close as long as you haven't seen the questions from other sources such as GMAT club. I was scoring 730s on the practice and got a 740 on the actual.

2. During both Quant and Verbal (but especially Verbal) the exam felt incredibly challenging and I felt that I was narrowing choices down to 2 options and "going with my gut". Is this a normal feeling to have as one becomes more comfortable with the types of questions or should this be cause for concern?

Yep that's how I felt on the actual exam, though I'm sure many will tell you that there are ways to overcome that through being systematic on how you approach these marginal decisions. CR, which was my weakest on the actual exam, is a good example where it's often down to two choices

3. Where do I go from here? How can I best improve upon my overall score given the Q47 and V40 breakdown?

My opinion is lots and lots of practice to the point that you immediately know what the question is asking you and identifying sections where you feel weak, but others may have better suggestions!

I'd save some of the practice exams in case you feel you need to retake the exam. Maybe take practice exam 1-3 or 1-4 and save 5-6 in case you feel you want to give GMAT another shot.

Good luck!
