Hi Michael122112,

First off, I’m thrilled to see that you used TTP! Regarding verbal, did you have a chance to work through our verbal materials or did you just do quant? If not, what have you been doing to study GMAT verbal? Also, regarding whether to switch to the GRE, here is a helpful article:

GMAT vs GRE: Which One Should I Take?

Hello Scott,

The GMAT verbal section in TTP seems promising. I read some of the material but I did not study it extensively. Is the verbal still beta and are there chapter questions on the website? what the estimated number of hours to complete the sentence correction part?

Thanks

Hello, everyone.

I took my first GMAT exam in December 2019, and my result was 560 (35Q and 32V). After this exam, I started studying for about 3 hours every day for almost 9 months. My quant score improved to 47 (TTP course )and the verbal marginally improved to 34.

Also, throughout the period I took 4 official exams. In this order 560, 620, 650 (V36 and Q43), 660(V34 and Q47).

I took an official GRE and achieved 155 in verbal and 160 in Quant. I am seriously considering moving to GRE for two reasons. First, I think it will be a lot easier to improve my verbal score than the Gmat. Second the biggest issue with the GMAT verbal is that I don't feel that I am improving after I practice.

My enhanced report for 660 GMAT score: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sah4al ... sp=sharing

My score per section:
CRITICAL REASONING: 98th
READING COMPREHENSION:33th
SENTENCE CORRECTION: 45h

I am really struggling to decide so I really appreciate any feedback.

Hi Michael122112,

I see that there are a few more weak areas than the ones you mentioned in the post. The first step would be to identify them. Because there's point working on improving your score unless you identify your weak areas. GMAT is a test which focuses on application of concepts. So, your preparation has to mostly focus on the application and the methods.

You have to understand that no matter which exam you take, unless you prepare in the right way, you are always gonna struggle. So, if you do your prep in the right way, you can definitely improve your score on GMAT. There are many people who have improved their score significantly by following a structured process. I can definitely help you in the process. But before that, I would like to know a few more details about your preparation and the way you approach questions. This will help me understand your concerns and guide you in a better way. We can get in touch over a call and have a detailed discussion regarding the same.
