Hi Pr3m,

The good news is that I think it's pretty clear as to why your quant score dropped on test day. You started the section late, you were distracted, and you also ran out of time at the end of your exam. Based on how you did on your practice exams, I think if you can get rid of those issues, you should be able to perform much better on test day. Certainly, if you want some additional advice on how to improve your quant skills, feel free to reach out. Also, here are some helpful articles:

Hey,
I recently scored a 770 (Q51, V44) on the GMAT. To share my perspective of how you should go about preparing for your GMAT attempt, I am organizing a GMAT Strategy chat session alongside a fundraiser for SaiJyot, a registered NGO running a free elementary school for about 60 unprivileged kids.

Schedule: 4 pm, Sunday, January 17, 2021

The session would be really helpful for anyone planning to take up the GMAT, be it someone just starting prep or someone a day away from their booked slot. I would also be answering any questions you all might have.

Cheers!

Extremely happy to report that I scored 700 in my second attempt (Q49, V37). To keep it short, this has been one of toughest battles of my professional life as there were so many variables that had to be kept in check.

I couldn't have done it without:

1. Building a solid foundation via Magoosh.
2. Learning the invaluable tactics via EmpowerGMAT.

Thanks a lot EMPOWERgmatRichC, Max from empowergmat ( EMPOWERgmatVerbal ) and mikemcgarry !!

Hi Pr3m,

That's OUTSTANDING news! A 700/Q49 is an OUTSTANDING overall Score - and with it, you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. The last time we discussed your application plans was back in December; right now, are you leaning more towards applying for an upcoming Round or waiting until Round 1 later on this year? I think it goes without saying that with this Score you could consider additional Programs besides the ones that you were focused on last year!
