HI sharkeinstein,

I guess you should wait to make any firm decision until you get back your score but out of curiosity, is there a particular reason why you must retake the GMAT in just 2 to 3 weeks?

Hi Scot,
Thanks for the response. I just received my score, and it’s a measly 650 (Q44 V35)
The reason for the 2-3 week window is the deadlines of most schools I’d like to apply to on Feb 15th.

Hi sharkeinstein,

We last discussed your studies and plans back in May, so while we're waiting for your Official Scores to arrive, I'd like to know a bit more about how you've been studying over the last 3 months and your goals:

Studies:
1) Over the last 3 months, what type of study routine were you following? How many hours did you typically study each week?
2) Did you use any other study materials besides the course that you mentioned?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) Is your overall goal score 700 or something else?
5) What are your current application plans? If you plan to apply soon, then what specific application deadlines are you facing?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,
Rich

Hi Rich,

Thanks for the response. Your response was extremely helpful in May, and I really appreciate it now as well. So as I just mentioned above, I received the official score 650 (Q44 V35)

1. I studied for about 4-5 hours everyday except for the holiday week (25th to 1st Jan)
2. Just powescore CR bible, to practice I stuck to OG and some resources on GMAT club.
3. So my detailed mock scores are as follows :

MGMAT 1 30/12/2020 640 Q44 V34
MGMAT 2 4/1/202021 660 Q40 V40 (I was too tired writing the test and got a few guesses correct in this test so I discarded it)
MGMAT 3 5/1/2021 620 Q40 V35
GMATprep test 2 9/1/2021 710 Q48 V39
MGMAT 4 12/1/2021 640 640 Q44 V34

As for the goals :
1. I would like to score 700+. I’m not necessarily looking for a 750 or a 730, since I’m applying to specialized masters degrees in Canada rather than top mba programs in the US or like INSEAD.
2. My deadlines are fast approaching. The first few are by 1st Feb, followed by 15th feb, and I’ll be left with only a handful of places after 15th feb.

I feel like I could do improving on my verbal as well given it’s not improved too much from the time I started, but I feel like a low quant score (mid 40s) might be a bigger red flag. Kindly let me know your opinion.

Thanks a lot for taking the time.
