A fine-art paints company creates custom paint mixtures according to artists' specifications. An artist has placed an order with the company for 300 milliliters (ml) of each of two different custom mixtures—Mixtures 1 and 2. By volume, Mixture 1 is 1/6 white paint, 1/3 magenta paint, and 1/2 ultramarine paint. And by volume, Mixture 2 is 1/6 ultramarine paint, 1/3 cyan paint, and 1/2 magenta paint.
Assuming the company uses only as much of each color of paint as is necessary to fill the order, the ratio of the quantity of magenta paint to the quantity of ultramarine paint needed to fill this order is __M___ to ___U___ .

6x = 300 ml
x = 50
hence white paint | magenta paint | ultramarine paint is 50 ml | 100 ml | 150 ml
Simirlarly,
Mixture 2 for ultramarine paint | cyan paint | magenta paint is 1y | 2y | 3y
6y = 300 ml
y = 50
hence white paint | magenta paint | ultramarine paint is 50 ml | 100 ml | 150 ml
Hence total magenta : total ultramarine paint is 250 ml / 200 ml or 5/4
hence Magenta | ultramarine is 5z | 4z
The only answer pair that make sense is

For M1 - Whit : Magenta: Ultra: Cyan = x/6+x/3+x/2+0 = 300
Solving for x - we get
Whit : Magenta: Ultra: Cyan = 50+100+150 + 0 = 300
For M2 - Whit : Magenta: Ultra: Cyan = 0+x/2+x/6+x/3 = 300
Solving for x - we get
Whit : Magenta: Ultra: Cyan = 0+150+50 + 100 = 300
Magenta (M1 + M2)/ Ultra (M1 + M2) = 250/200 = 5/4
M: U = 5:4
Solving for x - we get
