Let the distance traveled by train A is D km. Therefore distance traveled by trains from B will be D+165 Km

Now we know, if time is same ratio of speeds = ratio of distances

Therefore, 80/95 = D/(D+165)
Solving this D = 880. Therefore total distance will be D+D+165 which is 1925.

Two trains start from A and B and travel towards B and A, respectively. Their speeds are 80 km/h and 95 km/h, respectively. When they meet, it is found that one train has traveled 165 km more than the other. What is the distance of A to B?

Let the Distance be D and the time taken to meet be T

T = D/(80+95) => T = D/175
Also 95T - 80T = 165
=> 15T = 165
=> T = 11
=> D/175 = 11
=> D = 1925 Km
