Hi dmahesh007,

Unfortunately, there's no way to use your performance on a book of practice questions to reasonably guess at how you might score on a Computer-Adaptive Test taken under specific testing conditions. To get a sense of your current 'ability level', you need to take that first CAT.

There's a potential issue with your timeline leading up to Test Day. The process of taking (and reviewing) a CAT requires a significant amount of energy and effort - and takes time to 'recover' from. This is one of the reasons why you typically shouldn't take more than 1 CAT per week - and your last CAT should be taken about 1 week before Test Day. By taking 6 CATs in 6 days right before your Official GMAT, there's a reasonable chance that you will experience some 'burn out' on Test Day. That short timeframe also leaves you very little room to make changes to how you 'see' (and respond to) the Exam. In addition, by rushing through the 6 Official CATs, you run the risk of 'wasting' them (especially if you are unhappy with your Official Score and need to continue studying). You might be okay taking 2 CATs before July 14th, but I would not have you take any more than that.

Since your Test Date is now just a little over 1 week away, it would be expensive to reschedule or cancel this appointment, meaning that you should stick with this Test Date. "Cramming" rarely leads to great results with Exams such as the GMAT, so you need to be mindful about how much studying you do over the course of the next week. With the exception of taking your CATs/mocks, if you are going to try to study a lot, then I suggest that you take one hour "off" for every two hours of study. For example, you could study for 2 hours, then stop for an hour, then study for another 2 hours, then take an hour off, etc.

I wrote 2 mocks the last couple of days, horrible performances.
GMAT Practice test#2 - 490 - Q40,V19,IR1
GMAT Practice Test#1 - 460 - Q33,V20,IR1

Very clearly this indicates my level what i can expect on my exam this wednesday. I'll give my best and see how far i go along.

Needless to say, will look forward for a re-attempt with adequate mocks taken and practice, practice, practice to get decent consistency.

Hi dmahesh007,

In these last couple of days, while you might be tempted to do a lot of studying, you should limit your studies to general practice and light review (NO CATs and NO 'cramming'). You would be better served by getting some extra rest so that you can go into Test Day calm, clear-headed and ready to work. Ultimately, you should look at your upcoming Test Date as a 'learning experience.' Note all of the various aspects of Test Day so that you can use that information to better prepare for your next attempt. Once you have your Official Score, you can feel free to PM me directly and we can discuss the results and how you might best proceed with your studies.

Gave my GMAT this morning & below are the scores:

Total GMAT score : 440/800 ☹️☹️☹️
Quant :40/51
Verbal:12/51
Integrated reasoning:2/12

Actually I felt I was doing better in verbal than the quant as I was not confident of some answers on the quant but it seemed different when I had the score…

Will be doing a reattempt later this year

🙏🙏🙏

Sorry about the score but than you for posting. It is a good reference point. In general very hard to evaluate scores based on just question solving esp when difficulty is vague like it is in OG.

EA it’s pretty much like the GMAT. It’s the same questions just a different scoring approach. The scores are also fairly comparable.

However, with 16 years of work experience, you’re definitely an executive MBA candidate profile more than a full-time one.

PS. The 440 - Was that a practice test or a real test?

I scored a 440 in one of my mocks & also in the real exam😁☹️…

I’m alluded to the 1 yr full time as I want to accelerate my career than sitting with my current job… expecting my green card later this year so that I can enrolled into full time than switching job & then get into a EMBA mode… is it making sense or completely absurd??
