I'm also getting 10! The explanation is incorrect as well; it says that (x2, y2) is (6, 45), but that's clearly not true.

For the Q1, the answer is coming out to be 10.

That option is not there amongst the given options.

Am I correct?

The answer is 7.

At 1.0, culture opulation is between 7-8, at 2.0, it ranges between 17-19; and at 3.0, it is between 23-24. So the answer is less than 10. 7 is the maximum among the answers, so select it.

I hope that's an OA that you have posted. If i check the regression line whose slope is sought then at time 1s the culture population is 10. Whereas for time = 2s the culture population is 20. So by using (Y2-Y1) / (X2-X1) = (20-10) / (2-1) = 10.

However, when the exact points of data is observed then the data points suggested by you feel on point. Still we are not required to consider them as we are asked the slope of regression line. So wouldn't the slope of regression line be, as i calulcated above.

Slope of a graph is given as: (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

So approximately, (105-10)/(10-1) ~ 10

Just like everyone else, I too got the slope as 10.
