So this was my first time doing the GMAT and online. I always struggled with time in the sections, I knew timing would be the key for my overall performance.
I prepared myself diligently to get everything in order, I downloaded the securebrowser successfully, the windows update, the whiteboard, the set up process was perfect. But then the exam started and as soon as I tried to submit my first answer I knew things were particularly slowly. It took around 40 seconds for the next question to appear. I told my proctor about it but I kept going on. However, in every single question I was submitting from the time I clicked on next and confirm the answer, the system was so slow that it would take around 30 seconds to get me to the next question and meanwhile the clock kept running as if I was using that time!
In the end, I estimate this technical issue stole at least 5 min from my verbal. After I finished the section I discussed it with the proctor and he called some technical person who tried to fix the issue for around 30 to 40 minutes. Suddenly I was prompted with the first question of the quant. I was completely out of focus and frustrated by the fact that my verbal score will be unfairly affected due to technical issues that were not my responsibility.
I told my proctor that it didn't make much sense to keep with the exam, so I've just exited with just the verbal in.
I've just asked for a retake of the exam. I just hope they will accept it with no extra fee, as it is obvious that the techinical issues were present and recorded throughout the time I was doing the verbal.
Do you think they will allow me to retake the exam?

in my case, after clicking the answer it took about 10seconds to apply, 1+minutes to confirm, and another 2min to get to the next question. i could wait for the lagging, but clock ticking 3minutes additionally each question was devastated to continue the test

It seems better to take at a test center. There was another thread that they were discussing more than 50% experienced problem taking online. It may be skewed, but not to waste your time and energy, I believe test center is better. Also, did you had several devices connected while taking online test? Like USB drives, wifi keyboard, mouse, monitors( instead of laptop screen), separate webcams (not built-in camera) etc. I would boot and use a clean computer with no other programs running (like IT folks who have lot of program that could run in the background).
