Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my positive experience with the GMAT Online.
Prep material and practice testsI can’t recommend
GMATNinja 's videos enough; they were basically my only prep material for the Verbal section.
For Quant, I started with the
Manhattan books because I needed a good refresh of the basic concepts. Then, I watched lots and lots of YouTube videos from various experts.
The template from
chineseburned and the text-to-voice suggestion from
plaverbach were a lifesaver for the AWA.
I only took two practice tests:
- a
Manhattan Prep practice test before I started studying (650 - Q39; V40);
- GMAT Prep test 1, around three months before test day (770 - Q48; V48).
I had planned to take the test a few weeks earlier than I actually did, but life got in the way and I didn’t have the time or the mental energy to take another mock.
Technical AspectsI took the test on a MacBook Air with Big Sur.
It took the proctor nearly an hour to start the exam because the secure browser wouldn’t launch.
After that, though, everything went smoothly: no glitches, no lag, proctor responded quickly before and after breaks.
I only noticed a minor lag during the AWA, but it was nothing more than what you’d get with a crappy bluetooth keyboard.
The testDisclaimer: I was very tired and had a pretty annoying headache during the test, so my perception could be distorted.
I found the Quant section somewhat harder than the practice questions. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the questions seemed slightly unfamiliar, as if they were written with a different “style” (e.g., less wordy).
The Verbal section overall was very similar to the OG questions. A few SC questions were (or seemed to me) very hard and confusing, but RC and CR were mostly fine.
Surprisingly, the official score was available within a few hours.
Finally, I can’t thank
bb enough for creating this amazing forum.
Hope this helps,
Paguro
