Hello,

Why the negation method doesn’t work

1- P(NNN) + P(DNN) ?

Posted from my mobile device

It does work, if you subtract both P(NNN) and P(DNN).

Your approach ADDS P(DNN)

chetan2u , can you help me understand where I am going wrong with my approach-

Possibility either 2 or 3
2 - 14/20 * 6/19 * 5/18
3 - 6/20 * 5/19 * 4/18

2 + 3 = 3/38

What is wrong with this approach ?

For 2, you have to multiply it by 3. It will be (6/20 * 5/19 * 14/18) * 3. This is because the selection can be Miles, Miles, Not Miles; Miles, Not Miles, Miles; or Not Miles, Miles, Miles.
