HI Lennor
I recommend TTP course because if you see it's review, you can perceive why i am doing so. TTP has good contribution on this forum as I have found its explanation to OG problems are easy to catch. The best thing about TTP is that it has MartyTargetTestPrep who is the only tutor with gmat club verified 800 scores, and who answers queries of clubbers sincerely. I think the course help you to get your desired score.

Best Wishes!

Hi Lennor,

To start, can you confirm your 1st CAT/mock results? I ask because a Q24/V38 would NOT be a 660 overall (so one or more of those numbers is 'off'). In addition, what "brand" of CAT/mock was it?

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) Have you taken any other CATs besides this one? On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) What specific application deadlines are you facing?

EMPOWERgmatRichC I may have typed 24 instead of 42, my bad. I took the GMAT Official Practice Exam 1. As for the rest of your questions, I have not studied anything before or done any tests. I heard of GMAT last week (final year communication arts student and career switcher), and I'm now wondering if it's realistic to try to go for a 730-ish in time for the early January application, or if I should wait for March or even next year. Going for MiM and not MBA. My work experience is rock solid, but my GPA is also rock bottom lol. Thanks!

I strongly recommend TTP.i bet you, after doing their quant you will edit your post as it will take you to 51! Just seat tight & keep patience. TTP is great for verbal too. It is recommended to follow the study plan to get the best out of course.

Tip:just buy their trial & do some pages from number properties chapter.

You can thank me later.

Hello,

1st timer here. I did not know that MiMs existed until 1 week ago. I'm wondering if I can raise my score to 730-750 in time for the January application, or would it be more realistic to aim for a lower score and/or the March application? Also, does anyone have any recommendation on how to raise my quant ASAP? I suck at math, and last time I studied it was in middle-school.

Context:
First mock attempt of 660, with zero prep
IR: 7, 79 percentile
Verbal: 38, 84 percentile
Quant: 42, 39 percentile

Thank you!

Hi Lennor,

660 is a great score to secure with zero prep. You surely have the potential to hit 730+ if you prepare in a structured and disciplined manner with consistent efforts guided in the right direction.

You appear to have a good hold over concepts in case of quant. However, you need to learn the right methodologies for application of concepts learnt. And in case of Verbal, you appear to be good in 2 of 3 modules. You can share your weak areas or any specific topic you are struggling with.

Having said that, I would like to have a one-on-one conversation with you. The discussion would be mostly around the approach being followed by you currently, the approximate time you have for the attempt and the plan of action. You use use the link below to schedule a call with me.

One thing I'd add is that, even though you're starting off strong in verbal, you should prepare pretty seriously for verbal to be sure to score high on verbal on test day. For some insights into how to build on your strengths in verbal and totally rock GMAT verbal, see this post.
