Lets Start with meaning analysis:-

Here the authors says-->just the way JJ,LC and other modern artists disdained the use of realistic figures in their painting. So did RR.

Similarity between action of JJ , LC ,other modern artists and RR is shown here.

Error Analysis:-

Choice A.
HOLD

Choice B
Incorrect
Here there is no proper similarity . Verb DID should be present after other modern artists to show the intended similarity

Choice C
Incorrect
RR's disdain is wrong. If we read the non-underline part, his paintings "his" doesnot have a noun which it can refer to. His cannot refer RR's .

Choice D
Hold

Choice E
Incorrect

DID should be there after modern artists. Action is being made similar to the nouns which is illogical.

Now Choice A and Choice D are almost same just that in Choice D AS is used instead of LIKE.

I went with CHOICE D as I read somewhere that Like cannot be used to show similarity between actions.

Thanks
Feedback Appreciated.
