A & B clearly out - 'which' modifies illogically 'these days' and this has no clear precedent
E has redundant issue
between C & D - In D modifier modifies 'the large scale cutting ' but in original sentence a factor that contribute to global warming
C seems right answer

A) This option is out because of the usage of 'which' that introduces a relative modifier. 'Which' has to be preceeded by a noun. That doesn't happen in this option.
B) 'This is a factor contributing to global warming' is an independent clause, and can't be connected by a comma without the presence of a FANBOY.
C)Simple and clear construction. No errors found here
D)No particular errors, but the order of the sentence is a bit weird. C is a better option.
E)Using meaning to evaluate this sentence-> The sentence means that the 'fact' in and of itself is a contributor to global warming rather than the cutting of forests.
