D. political malapropisms, new senses to ancient words, a booming economic colossus and a heroic rescue that captivated the world contributed to

E. political malapropisms, new senses to ancient words, a booming economic colossus, a heroic rescue that captivated the world have contributed for

Answer : Contributed to is correct , so eliminate A and E.
WILL contribute removes the option C because the action has already passed so future tense shouldnt be used.

Between B and D

D is preferred for parallel structure.

AN .. disaster, THE .. Cup, political malapropismS, new senses to ancient wordS, A ... colossus and A ... rescue
fits better.

PLease give me kudos, I need more kudos.
