The above one looks more reasonable than what I did. I was grouping the factors of 8! To form values of A, B, C, and D.

I did get an answer.
But it is time taking.
And we don't exactly get much during exam.😬

ab+a+b=524
Or (a+1)(b+1)=525

bc+b+c=146
Or (b+1)(c+1)=147

cd+c+d=104
Or, (c+1)(d+1)=105

Factor the right-hand sides:
525 = 21 * 25
147 = 21 * 7
105 = 7 * 15

Notice the overlapping factors, so:
b+1=21
a+1=25
c+1=7
d+1=15

Solve for the variables:

a=24, b=20, c=6, d=14

(Check: 24 * 20 * 6 * 14 = 40,320 = 8!)

a-d = 24 - 14 = 10
