Hi,
I would love to help you because I ran into this problem as well while attempting to improve my verbal score. FYI, I retook the GMAT to improve my overall score, but my verbal score was generally low. During this period, I did the following:
1. Start by evaluating your verbal section's strengths and flaws.
2. SC was my linguistic strong suit. So, on average, SC questions took up less of my permitted time for each question.
3. Because my first reading and response pace was so poor, I took advantage of this opportunity to spend more time on challenging CR problems before moving on to RCs, which in any event required more time from my end.
4. The longer CR and RC questions weren't all challenging. I observed a consistent increase in my expertise and accuracy with them.
Practice, Strategize, Excel...
Hope it helps!
