We need to find Is \(xy > 0\)

STAT 1: \(|x| + 8|y| = 0\)
Sum of Modulus of two numbers = 0
This is possible only when both of them are zero as Modulus of a number cannot be negative
=> |x| = |y| = 0
=>x = y = 0
=>xy = 0
=> xy is NOT > 0
=> SUFFICIENT
STAT 2: \(8|x| + |y| = 0\)
Same logic as STAT 1
=> |x| = |y| = 0
=>x = y = 0
=>xy = 0
=> xy is NOT > 0
=> SUFFICIENT
So, Answer will be D
