Hi everyone,
I started 2-3 weeks ago to go through the study program provided by TTP. However, I encountered first issues.
Issue 1: The study time
I entered the hours I am available for each day so TTP spit out a plan. However, I think it is HIGHLY unrealistic to stick to those hours as you sometimes need more time to understand things, so I end up studying 7 hours instead of 5. Am I the only one or is there anyone else who has this issue?
Issue 2: Putting what I learned to work
I go through each chapter and take a lot of notes, and I almost get every concept mastery questions or test question within the chapter correct. However, when it comes to taking the easy, medium, and hard test at the very end, I tend to fail each and every single one of them. I do really good during the chapters and then fail... I do not know why and I am wondering if it is the same for you? Do you guys retake the tests?
I started to re-do the tests now to hit the accuracy goal and I hope this will help me.
Issue 3: Some questions are just insanely hard for me
I just went through the medium linear and quadratic equations test and I encountered a question that was insanely hard and I would have never been able to get to the solution. I was wondering if some medium questions are actually harder than medium?
I have until end of January to study and I need a 650+. I have not taken the GMAT before because I knew I will have to go through all of the material. I can tell what my strengths are but I can also tell that I need to rework some of the things which is normal I guess.
I would really appreciate every tip you guys have for me. I think in general it is a good course, but I feel lost sometimes and wish there would be video explanations for the test answers.

Everyone has a different rate at which he or she learns a particular concept or strategy or completes a practice question. So, yes, it's common for people's actual time to complete a particular task in their study plan to differ somewhat from the time estimated by the calendar generator for that task. Sometimes, you'll need more time, and in other cases, you'll need less.

The fact that you're getting the in-chapter questions correct is great. With regards to the chapter tests, it may help to spend more time on each question. In other words, you can make the time you spend on each question a low priority for now and shoot for high accuracy even if you sometimes have to spend 10 minutes or more on a question to get it correct. You'll learn fastest and learn the most by prioritizing accuracy over speed at this point in your preparation.
Also, if you haven't read the verbal strategy lessons in Mission 3 of TTP, be sure to do so since they provide key insights that you can use to achieve high accuracy on the verbal chapter tests.
And yes, retaking a test is often the way to go if you don't achieve the target accuracy the first time you take it.

A question considered medium difficulty for most people can be hard for some people. Similarly, a question considered hard by most people might seem easy to you. Also, it's possible that a hard question sneaked into that medium test somehow. So, don't worry too much about your having difficulty with any particular question. Just do your best to answer each question and learn from each question regardless of whether you get it correct. Over time, you'll develop stronger quantitative reasoning skills and become able to answer questions that currently seem insanely hard.
