The last sentence in the passage gives away a major clue, and on the basis of that, we can conclude that while Camille was chosen by the judges, the audience did not vote for her because"clearly, the audience preferred other candidates."

So here two aspects are to be taken into consideration-
1. Judges choose 10 candidates who are later voted by audience
2. Camille appeared to be most favourite but failed to win the competition.

Why did Camille fail to win when she was most favourite ?
Must be that judges didnot choose her in the top ten .

Option B .
Also when we negate option B it breaks down the conclusion. 
ie if judges did rate her among the preferred candidate to go for public voting then she would have won the competition because she was most preferred among the audience
