Is D the premises that's why it is incorrect. D Breaks the argument as well but I think it's not new information and I suppose it's just reiterating the premises.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. I tend to choose such options and make mistakes.

GabriellaKhingg Correct, D just reiterates a premise already in the argument: "being involved in multiple aspects of the trade, something that professionals continuing in their comfort zones rarely get a chance to explore."

The main flaw in the argument is that the vague term "professionally mature" in the 1st sentence is not directly connected to "a holistic sense of any trade" in the 2nd sentence. This is why C is the necessary assumption.

One cannot become professionally mature as long as one continues to work in one’s comfort zone. True, the expertise one develops over the years in a particular area makes one greatly knowledgeable about intricate working details, but a holistic sense of any trade can only be acquired by being involved in multiple aspects of the trade, something that professionals continuing in their comfort zones rarely get a chance to explore.

Which one of the following is an assumption on which the argument depends?

A. Professionals must come out of their comfort zones to obtain holistic sense of their respective trades.
B. No mature professional lacks great knowledge and expertise in one's profession.
C. A holistic sense of a trade is essential for professional maturity.
D. Professionals cannot explore multiple aspects of their respective trades when they remain in their comfort zones.
E. Knowledge of intricate working details does not provide exposure to multiple aspects of a trade.
