Let length of metal sheet = 30 inches, breadth = 18 inches
(1) Each of the cookies has a radius of 3 inches.
=> Diameter = 6 inches
=> Since all cookies are identical and non overlapping, the sheet is covered 'as much as possible'.
=> Therefore, m = 30/6 = 5
=> n = 18/6 = 3
=> nm = 5*3 = 15
(1) is sufficient
(2) 5 cookies in a row fit exactly within the longer dimension of the sheet.
=> Longer length is 30 inches
=> m = 30/5 = 6 inches
=> This means that diameter of cookies = 6 inches
=> n = 18/6 = 3
=> nm = 5*3 = 15
(2) is sufficient
