ESR analysis of my score

Question

Hello All,
I recently took a GMAT and scored 720. This was my first attempt.
From my ESR analysis, I could infer that I need to work a lot on my RC skills. But it would help if you could have a look and give me your insights on which direction I should focus to get a 750.

Also, I need an advice on AWA and IR. My scores are very low in both the areas (4 and 4 respectively). Is this a big problem?
I would be deeply grateful for any insights on the ESR.

Hi Mentis678.

To get to 750, you need to focus on learning to see meaning issues in SC, since your ESR indicates that you were relatively weak in the Communication SC category.

Also, you need to continue to work on all types of Verbal questions to achieve higher accuracy and speed up in Verbal and complete the section on time.

If you want to practice the reading side of things, consider regularly reading similar articles to those on the GMAT from The Economist. Working with a study buddy who is strong on RC could be helpful as well. You could teach them Quant in exchange.

Hi Mentis678,

First off, a 720/Q50 is an outstanding Score, so you can comfortably apply to any Business Schools that interest you. As such, a retest is probably not necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's certainly no harm in continuing to study, but before we get into the data in your ESR, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?
