Hey everyone,
I've been studying for the GMAT since June of last year, and I recently took my first mock exam three weeks ago. I received a score of 590 (Q41, V31). I felt incredibly discouraged, especially considering the amount of effort and dedication I put into studying over the past year. After analyzing my performance, I realized that I made a few careless mistakes in both the verbal and quantitative sections. I spent around 900-1000 hours completing TTP (
Target Test Prep). For the verbal section, my V31 score is distributed as follows: Sentence Correction (SC) - 55%, Reading Comprehension (RC) - 55%, and Critical Reasoning (CR) - 80%.
Currently, I am using the OG (Official Guide) and have completed over 20% of it. My accuracy rates are as follows: easy questions at 85%, medium at 61%, and hard at 56%. I meticulously review each mistake I make and maintain an
error log to track them. Additionally, my daily goal is to solve and review approximately 30-40 questions, with a focus on Sentence Correction (SC), Quantitative (Quant), and Reading Comprehension (RC) sections. Currently, I am working on improving my accuracy for hard SC questions, which ranges between 60-70%.
My target score is 730, and my initial plan was to achieve this score before the Round 1 applications. However, I am uncertain if it would be possible to make such a significant improvement within that timeframe. My current plan involves completing the OG and then creating customized OG quizzes on GMAT Club to target my weaknesses. I will also watch all the GMAT Ninja video series.
I would appreciate any additional advice or recommendations on what else I can do to improve.
