Hi SandeepReddy26,

First off, a 690/Q49 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. You're ultimately asking rather broad Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and specific plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement (and the more time that you have to act on that advice, the better). There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

You may want to get a profile evaluation with a consultant.

In general, family business is a harder sell since you are working in the family business and it’s really hard to get fired and your supervisor will not have a very objective view of you because they’re probably a relative.

A lot depends on how your application looks and what else you have done with your time and other accomplishments that perhaps are hard to come by…

However, there is a number of schools in the US that would welcome you with that score in those parameters. It may not be the top 10 but what you will learn will still be equally good and you will be pushed and have a transformative experience.

It also would be helpful to know what you’re planning to do after school and your plans. You’re welcome to post the request for profile evaluation in the proper sub forum.

Thx.

Hi,
I have scored a 690 (Q49,V35) in the GMAT. I have an undergrad GPA of 7.61 and three years of experience in a family business. Would this score be sufficient to apply for universities in the US?

Hi Sandeep.

You can certainly get into some good US schools with that profile, but to get into highly competitive schools, you'll likely need a higher GMAT score.

You can find out more by doing a little research to get a sense of the typical student profile at schools you'd like to attend.

Also, there's a B-school Applications forum on GMAT Club on which this type of topic is discussed more and you can get a review of your profile.

https://gmatclub.com/forum/the-b-school ... ation-103/

Thank you Marty, will look into the universities.

Hi SandeepReddy26,

Glad to see you reached out to some admissions consultants. Just make sure you provide as many details as possible.
