Hey all,
As my first post on the GMAT club forum, I’d like to appreciate the amazing support provided by this forum to all the members here.
I recently gave my first GMAT attempt and scored 680(Q47,V35) and got pretty disappointed. I’ve cancelled my score and don’t even have the courage to get the ESR, which might anyway take some time to be generated and will be too late to resume my prep. I started my GMAT journey around 3 months back, going through multiple posts built around self studying. I mainly followed the OG 2022 and the additional quant and verbal practice books. I also did timed practice sets for a month which went really well for Quants (except for the silly mistakes of course) with accuracy ranging from 70% to 95% but I was always short on time in Verbal and mostly stuck between 2 choices in all sub sections and with an accuracy ranging from 50% to 90%. For concept knowledge i mainly referred to the GMAT Ninja videos which were really helpful in building the basics.
Before the test, i gave 4 official mocks which had scores ranging from 640-690. Unfortunately, i had only given myself 5 weeks to improve after i scored 640 in my first mock, and had scheduled my GMAT exam. I am definitely aiming to get a 700+ (preferably 720+) but at the same time I’m also really clueless about progressing further.
For now, I’ve taken up the E-Gmat online focused course that is for a 2 month duration so that i can study in a structured way. I’m fairly confident in quants (except for the recurring silly mistakes) as quants scores have mostly ranged between Q44-49, but very shaky and unpredictable in Verbal with scores ranging from V31 to V37. I saw some really good reviews about e-gmat verbal and the abundance of practice material that comes with the course at a decent price of $199. Also, I’m getting free access to
GMAT club tests so that’s icing on the cake (if i can muster enough courage to attempt those deadly tests)
I would really appreciate any input through which i can improve and get a better score by October. Most schools have a deadline in November so it’d be great to get a decent score before that. Although I’m not sure if aiming for a 720+ in less than 2 months is a stretch as i just scored 650. I’m a working professional and cannot really commit to studying more than 25 hours in a week unless i take some time off which i might do from time to time.
Thank you,
A
