Assume that Joe, Joanne, and Jeremy spend A, B, and C hours to complete the job, respectively.
Working together, Joe and Joanne finish a job in 2 hours. --> 1/A + 1/B = 1/2 (*)
How long will it take Jeremy and Joe to finish the job? --> We want to know 1/C + 1/A
(1) --> A = 5, C = 5/400% --> Now A and C are known. --> 1/C + 1/A is known. --> Sufficient.
(2) --> B = 10/3 --> A is known from (*) . Yet, C is still unknown. --> Insufficient.
Thus, A.
