Thanks bb for your prompt response.
I wish GMAC would have been as prompt as you.
You are right, I should have taken the exam at a test center. Albeit, I have heard incidents from my friends based out of Mumbai, India (the city where I currently reside) that traffic took a toll on them even before they reached exam center. I was hoping to avoid the same.
But, I guess I paid a heavy price.

One more thing, the proctor did confirm that I will be allowed to reschedule my exam as he too had confirmed from the GMAC executive whom he had invited during the session.

Considering this, can you help me understand if I would be allowed to reschedule (without repayment) even if it is post 16 days?
Of course, I will try my best to make my case that my time was reduced in the other two sections as well and hence, I should be allowed to reschedule within next 2-3 days. More importantly, how do they expect anyone to write an exam such as GMAT under such conditions?

4) The GMAC executive had left the session when I rejoined and the proctor informed me that I would be allowed to reschedule the exam. He had clarified after confirming from him multiple times. However, I have not received any official confirmation as yet.

Fair to say you won't have to pay for a retake. You may need to complete the waiting period before taking the exam. If you've already sent an email, a ticket number should have been generated but you could also try contacting GMAC by phone.

It’s hard to tell exactly when you’ll be allowed to retake (waiting 16 days or not waiting 16 days) it’s not like there is an official policy and I am just making these judgments based on previous incidents…

But I think you have a decent chance to retake the test in less than 16 days since your test sorta died in the middle.

PS. It’s annoying and unfortunate that there’s no way to just easily terminate the test but once anything goes wrong, I highly recommend terminating the test in whichever way you can because by continuing, you accept that you are OK with the experience and that should be clearly not OK.

PS. You should get an email or a message from Mac within next few days instructions to rebook your test. You can also go into the system but don’t book anything yet and see if the system allows you to book a test in less than 16 days.

Yes bb, you are absolutely right. I wish there was a way to terminate the exam and ask them to reschedule it. In fact, this is exactly what happened on multiple occasions when the browser crashed. More specifically, when the exam skipped an entire section (data insights), I asked my proctor to terminate this exam. I told him how am I supposed to give the exam under such conditions. He asked me to continue with Verbal and insisted that we resolve this issue later. But as it turned out the exam had already ended. If they will check the video recording then they will understand that I insisted to terminate the exam on multiple occasions.
For now I have emailed them multiple times and a ticket has been generated. But there is no further communication. Also, their telephone services do not operate in India. Hence, mail is the only source.

Yes, I have sent them an email and have received a ticket number. However, no calling number works. I have tried every other number available but none of them were applicable for GMAT online. The numbers I received from them are also defunct

I'm sorry to hear about this. I suppose you could keep emailing GMAC to see if they can give you a working number that you can call.

First of all, thanks a lot Scott. The only section that I was able to attempt with 40 minutes on the clock was Verbal section. CR has always been my weak point. Albeit, I scored V87 in the exam. All thanks to TTP. The only good thing that came out of my exam.

Yes, I have been incessantly emailing them. There has been no response to the mails either.
The status still shows as pending on my accounts page.
I am not sure, what steps to follow next

Just an update:
After mailing GMAC incessantly for the last 4 days, calling them on defunct numbers, and even reaching out to GMAC officials on Linkedin, I have not received any response. This entire journey has been traumatizing and stressful. I am not sure what exactly should be my path from here on.
Can you please guide if you are aware of the TAT that is taken by GMAC officials to respond to the mails?

Hi bb,

So here's some update. I contacted senior GMAC officials on LinkedIn and got an email today with a voucher to retake the exam.
However the voucher code is applicable only for GMAT online.
I am quite skeptical of taking the exam again online and I believe there would be lot of panic even if I try giving it online. Hence, I have written them a mail in response asking to allow me take the exam at center or refund the fees already paid so that I can book at test center myself.
I just wanted to know the answers for a couple of questions.

1) Should I be expecting response from them? Generally what would be the TAT here considering it was 5 working days earlier

2) Will they refund me the cost of the exam as I prefer to take it at the test center.

P.s. I am trying to adhere to stringent timelines considering R2 deadline is just round the corner so the intention is to get the GMAT score by end of this month. Also, all slots are mostly booked at test centers so its going to be a challenge.
