How have you prepared for CR and RC?

What are the R2 deadlines of your target schools?

If you retake after this upcoming GMAT, how much time per day will you have to prepare taking into account work, applications, and other responsibilities?

Dear Experts,

I hope this message finds you well. I've scheduled my GMAT Classic test for December 14th and find myself in a bit of a quandary regarding my performance. Here's a breakdown:

First mock ever : 480 (Q30 V25) taken 13 months ago
First real GMAT score: 640 (Q44 V37) taken 3 months ago
Recent mocks: 710 (Q49 V38), 750 (Q50 V42), 700 (Q48 V37), all taken within the last 2 weeks
Concerns about familiarity with questions in the first two mocks, since I have already taken them 6 months ago

Preparation Journey:
I embarked on a 13-month preparation journey, investing over 1500 hours of study. Completing the TTP self-study program significantly improved my quantitative skills. I worked on verbal alone.
After the first exam, I studied RC and CR, since my SC was near flawless, to try to push through that V40. However, I am not sure whether I will be able to break through that in the next exam. I also focussed on my weak areas for Quant.

On the last mock, I made 4 mistakes in RC, 5 in CR, and 1 in SC. I felt that it was the most realistic mock since I was completely unfamiliar with the questions.

Current Dilemma:
Originally, I was planning to apply for R1, but I don't think I will even be able to apply for R2 now. I had intended to get a score of 750+, but I don't think that I will be able to score more than 700 on this upcoming exam.
I don't know whether I should not do the 3 remaining mocks (I will have to do them within the span of 10 days) before the exam, or even reschedule it altogether till after Christmas. Doing the remaining mocks within 10 days seems daunting, and I definitely don't want to waste them, especially if I decide to later on shoot for a 760.

I think that I will go through with this exam since the mocks indicate a score of ~700 and since I should have a score ready for upcoming applications. And then try for a higher score after that if I'm still stubborn enough to study some more.

What do you experts think? I seek your expert advice on whether to proceed with the remaining mocks, reschedule, or adopt a different strategy.
Also, any recommendations on what to study in these 2 weeks?
Your insights are invaluable to me, and I appreciate your time and guidance.

Thank you for your consideration,
Dany

It all depends on your target schools, their application deadlines and their average GMAT scores.
If you are intent of taking the GMAT Classic, you have about 1.5 months at the most. You can certainly see a good increase in your CR accuracy in this time and you can try to plug in some gaps in Quant too. I would think that 700+ is certainly possible. Unfortunately even official mock tests are not a great indicator of attainable score because of our familiarity with the questions types (even if we haven't seen that question before, we have seen question "like" that in our prep material and here) but they are great to help us identify our weaknesses.

For 750+, if you are not applying in R2 (since essays will take a lot of time too) I think the best course of action would be to push your test back (to end Feb or so) and take GMAT Focus and apply in R3. But your comfort with that depends on how you fare in Integrated Reasoning. And you will also need to work on your App alongside.

I suggest take the classic GMAT once more in about 25 days. If you are happy with the score, great! Else, plan to work on GMAT Focus. No point rushing for a particular round if you are not fully prepared for it. Though, I must add that you should check with an admission consultant too.

I have used the TTP program, CR bible and OG questions. For RC, I've already done all the OG passages, so I am using LSAT. As for CR, I am going through the OG questions topic by topic.
I think the deadlines of the unis I am aiming to apply to for R2 have passed.
As for time, I have 6 hours per day, during which I study for gmat most of the time. I have not really begun the application process, as I want to finish the test first.

I am going do as you suggested and take the classic one more time and see if I am satisfied with my score. My IR score is around 7 on the old gmat, so I think it should be alright if I take the focus version.
Also, I am applying for MSF programs and not MBAs.

Great! I discuss a lot of CR and RC questions on my YouTube channel.
Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... dhcz3eE8O3

With a 7 in IR, you should have no trouble in Focus too. So relax and give it your best shot.
Best Wishes!
