GMAT FOCUS SCORED 555

Question

I have recently completed the GMAT FOCUS test and had 40 out of 64 questions correct but still my score point is 555 with 53% percentile

Quant - 15/21
Verbal - 12/23
DI - 13/20

Can anyone please tell how many questions need to be correct to get above 90% percentile

Difficulty level of the questions answered correctly -- might hold the clue.

what is important is sequence of correct answers over total correct answers... GFE like classic is adaptive test...
do share your ESR report , it will assist in understanding better reason of your scoring pattern.

I think it really depends on the difficulty level of questions you are getting correct/wrong. I made a post recently but I got 23 wrong overall and got 645. This means that majority of my questions were hard difficulty. I assume that because the test is brand new, there's less bank of questions available right now.

Means if we reply incorrectly to hard and medium difficulty questions then score points would be less ? I read on forum once someone saying that if we reply incorrectly to easy questions then score points would be badly affected

Incorrect Answers -
46% Quant - 7, 8, 9, 10, 16 & 21
42% Verbal - 2, 4, 8, 9, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 22 & 23
66% DI - 1, 4, 6, 14, 16, 17 & 19

Basically everyones test is going to be different. If you get more difficult questions on your exam, your going to be penalized less. If you get easier questions your overall score will be less if you get those easy questions wrong.

You and I got similar # of questions wrong but i got 645 which meant my test difficulty overall was hard.

As has been said, it's not just the quantity of questions wrong; it's also about the difficulty level of the questions you are getting wrong that count towards your score.

Your score depends on the difficulty levels of the questions that you answered correctly or incorrectly. If you answer an easy question incorrectly, (Q- 20 correct, 1 (400 difficulty level question wrong) then your percentile might decrease by 5-6% (you might get Q80-Q85) just because of a single incorrect easy question. On the other hand, if you attempt 2-3 questions incorrectly above 750 level then you might also get Q80-Q85. 
So, there is not any specific answer about how many questions should be answered correctly to get above 90%.
