in terms of course and preparation there is no major difference between two tests .. if your basics are solid then just practise questions daily from official sources or from GC forum and give mocks ...

Hi Gaiagmat.

That increase from 390 to 500 in a few weeks is great progress. So, there's no reason to be demoralized. All that's going on is that it typically takes more than three weeks, and more like three months, to prepare for the GMAT.

So, you should switch to the Focus Edition and plan to prepare for longer than another 10 days to achieve your target score.

For some tips on how to master the GMAT, see this post.

How to Score 705+ on the GMAT Focus Edition

Thank you so much for the encouragement. The only thing holding me back from trying the Focus version is the absence of Sentence Correction (SC), which is my strongest suit. Would you recommend attempting a mock test with the Focus edition to truly understand the difference in my score between the two formats? Thanks a lot for the helpful advice!

As a non-native English speaker, I perform better in Sentence Correction (SC) due to its more mechanical nature compared to Critical Reasoning (CR) and Reading Comprehension (RC), where my performance heavily relies on my understanding of the terms in the question. In Verbal, timing is my major challenge, while in Quant, nervousness hinders me from approaching questions with the same ease and method as in practice exercises.

For RC, becoming familiar with how inference questions work could be helpful. For CR, Manhattan-Prep's 6th Edition for Critical Reasoning may be worth checking out. For time management, question/time markers may be useful as well. If you feel your fundamentals are solid, consider working on your solving approach. May boost your score a bit. Had a student for example who went from a V31 to a V40 in about 30 days. Perhaps include working with a study buddy who is strong in areas you find slippery (i.e. CR) and is looking for help in areas you're strong on. There's a study buddy thread on gmatclub you could have a look at.

Thank you so much for the time you dedicated to reading and for the advice. Regarding the fundamentals, unfortunately, I can't say they are solid. The topics are, but it's my limited language knowledge that causes more issues in these two sections. Thanks a lot; I will consider a study buddy!

Hi Archit3110,
Thank you so much for the advice. I'm not sure if my fundamentals are truly solid for the verbal section, as I have a clear understanding of the topics. However, I often encounter terms in the texts that I'm not familiar with, making comprehension challenging. In Sentence Correction (SC), even if I don't understand the meaning of a term, I can understand its role in the sentence. Considering this, my initial intention was to take the traditional test. Do you recommend taking a mock test with the Focus version to assess the score difference?
