I don't know why the word, "is", is OK in Answer D.
"Honesty and trust" is plural form, isn't it?

No u didn't get it......
the idea of x and y ARE necessary in a relationship IS fundamentally wrong....

Yes...the idea is singular so it's correct to say...IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG......NOT ARE FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG.......

but.... X and Y are plural..... So ...x and y ARE NECESSARY.....NOT IS NECESSARY....

SO....D cant be correct.......
