This statement alone does not provide any information about the number of poetry books. Without knowing the number of poetry books, we cannot determine the percentage of poetry books on Beth's bookshelf.
(1) is not sufficient
Statement 2: There are 12 poetry books on Beth’s bookshelf.
This statement provides the number of poetry books on Beth's bookshelf but doesn't give the total number of books. Without the total number of books, we cannot calculate the percentage of poetry books.

Combining the two statements: - From statement 1, we know there are 60 books in total.

1. Statement A alone is insufficient as it talks about 15 novels.

IMO the correct answer should be C
